Cloudflare error 1009 — Access denied, country blocked
The site owner blocked your country. Cloudflare resolves your exit IP to a country and the rule refuses it before the origin is contacted.
A proxy fixes this. Geo blocks are exactly what geo-targeted exits are for: change the country token and the rule stops matching. Check the site is one you are entitled to reach from there.
Why it happens
The site serves one market and blocks the rest to cut abuse.
Sanctions or licensing restrictions.
Your exit IP geolocates somewhere other than where it physically is — which happens, and looks identical.
How to fix it
- Exit from a country the site serves.
- Verify where your IP actually geolocates before assuming; databases disagree with each other constantly.
- For content licensed by region, respect the restriction — this one is usually deliberate and legitimate.
