CONVERTER

Unix timestamp to date

Convert a Unix timestamp (epoch seconds or milliseconds) to a readable UTC and local date. Free two-way converter.

Paste a Unix timestamp and get the human date in both UTC and your local timezone. Works with 10-digit seconds and 13-digit milliseconds.

Seconds vs milliseconds

A 10-digit value is seconds; 13 digits is milliseconds. If the result lands in 1970, you passed the wrong unit — divide or multiply by 1000. The converter handles both, but knowing which your source uses avoids surprises.

UTC and local

The timestamp is always UTC; the converter also shows your local time so you can sanity-check against the wall clock. For cross-system comparisons, keep everything in UTC.

FAQ

My result is in 1970 — why?›
You mixed seconds and milliseconds. A near-1970 date means the number was 1000× too small.
Is the date UTC or local?›
The tool shows both. The underlying timestamp is UTC.
