Akamai "Access Denied" with a reference number
A plain "Access Denied" page carrying a long reference number. The number identifies the edge node and the rule that fired; it is meaningful to the site owner and to nobody else.
A proxy fixes part of this. Akamai weighs the fingerprint more heavily than the address. A residential IP is necessary for many sites behind it, and on its own it is rarely sufficient.
Why it happens
The _abck cookie is missing, stale, or was never validated by a sensor post.
IP reputation, particularly for cloud and datacenter ranges.
TLS fingerprint mismatch — Akamai leans on this heavily.
How to fix it
- Keep the full cookie jar across the session; _abck in particular has to survive.
- Match the TLS fingerprint to the browser you claim to be.
- Move to residential exits to take IP reputation out of the calculation.
