Receive SMS API
Spin up a real phone number and read its inbound SMS over a clean REST API.
The Receive SMS API hands your application a genuine phone number in 190+ countries and exposes every inbound message through REST or webhooks. Ideal for account verification, testing SMS flows across regions, or capturing one-off inbound texts — with per-message billing and no hardware.
How it works
Get a number
Create an activation for a country (and optionally a target service); the number is yours for the session.
Read inbound SMS
Poll the activation or receive a webhook POST with the full message text and the extracted code.
Release when done
Numbers auto-expire; nothing to clean up, and idle numbers cost nothing.
Code examples
Provision a number and read its inbound SMS.
# 1 — request a number for the service
curl -X POST "https://api.eveses.com/v1/numbers/orders" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $EVESES_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"service":"any-sms","country":"gb"}'
# → { "id":"act_9f2", "number":"+1202555••••", "status":"waiting" }
# 2 — poll for the code (or use a webhook)
curl "https://api.eveses.com/v1/numbers/orders/act_9f2" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $EVESES_API_KEY"
# → { "id":"act_9f2", "status":"received", "code":"483920" }Pricing
Per-number, per-session pricing from your wallet; the /quote endpoint returns the exact price for a country + service before you buy.
