Sign up without handing over your own phone number
Every sign-up that asks for a phone number adds yours to another company's records, and a number is the hardest identifier to change. The Eveses panel gives you a separate number for the code, shows the code in the page you are registering on, and keeps your own number out of it.
Numbers start at $0.09. If no code arrives, the activation expires and nothing is charged.
Not a shared public number
Free "receive SMS online" numbers are shared: anyone can read the codes sent to them, and a code someone else reads is an account someone else can take. An Eveses number is yours for the activation and its messages are shown only in your account.
If the account must last
A one-time activation receives a code and ends. If the service will ask for a code again later (a new device, a password reset), rent the number instead: a rental stays yours for its term and can be extended from the panel before it ends.
Чего оно не делает
- It does not make you anonymous to the service; it keeps your own number off the account.
- Some services refuse virtual numbers outright. If no code arrives, you are not charged, and another country often works.
